Second Timothy Ch. 1~ Stir Up the Gift of YHWH

By: Cheyenne

I always try to read atleast one chapter out of the Bible each night (I'm not bragging). I was doing that last night, and this passage just leaped out at me. I've been thinking about it since last night, and I've been trying to figure out what it means. Verse 9 is what really throws me off, because this verse just doesn't seem to fit in the passage. It is Paul who wrote this though, and he is known for being confusing at times. Here's what it says in verse 9 though, "Who hath saved us, and called us with a Kadosh (Holy) calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Yahushua HaMashiach before the world began,". What threw me off was the part where it says that  "  Who hath saved us, and called us with a Kadosh (Holy) calling, not according to our works...". I mean, I see that and my mind thinks of how in the book of James it says "Faith Without Works is Dead". I know we shouldn't go bragging about our works though. The King James Version is very confusing in how it's translated from Biblical Hebrew though. How I wish we had all the original scrolls in the Paleo Hebrew text!!!! Well YHWH will reveal what this passage means to me when he is ready. Until then I'm going to keep reading Second Timothy until I read the very last verse, because this has really helped to "Stir Up" my curiosity. Have a Blessed Day Everyone,
